Sky at night, actually dusk

So there it was,  I’d run out of potatoes,  that’s just short of a national emergency in my kitchen. Anyway en route to salvage the situation as I turned a corner thIs beautiful sky revealed itself. There’s something special about living in east London for some reason we occasionally get these special skies over the A406 the North Circular. 

So there’s two lessons learned, one don’t run out of potatoes and two always have a camera handy.

Just to put your mind at rest the potatoes, baked,  turned out to be a great success.

Night n’ day…

 Waldringfield, Suffolk.. I’ve mentioned in a previous post ‘a perfect Sunday morning’ sunshine, blues skies etc. But when the sun is reflecting on the river Deben change the picture to black and white and it introduces some drama as well. 

A day off from the gallery, a drive in the country, a perfect Sunday morning…peace and quiet in Suffolk. Just wandering along the banks of the river Deben, blue sky, birdsong and  just finished a full english breakfast., what more is there in life….

Time flies..

Time flies as they say...
I originally started this blog as part of the 'daily photo' group, now time has flown by and other projects, other social media has taken over. Ten years later when curiosity urged me to look back at my work I was amazed to find almost a million people had stopped for a look at the site, 
So now I intend to bring it back to life, in a slightly different format, not daily anymore but with  regular posts not just about Wanstead but further afield and with a variety of my photographs...
As you can see from the photograph above I haven’t aged at all 😂, many thanks to Sharon Bonner for making me look decent in front of one of my favourite pictures in our gallery of a curious Spitalfields cat. 

I hope you continue to enjoy the site.

OPENING NIGHT AT 84....

Saturday night at our Gallery was fantastic...The Mayor of Redbridge, Gurdial Bhamra kindly came along to announce the winner of the photography competition and draw the raffle tickets. You can get a flavour of the evening below and see the winning pictures later this week...

..as you can see from the picture above the long awaited photography exhibition in now on the Gallery wall and open for everyone to see. The photographs we are exhibiting are by 13 local photographers and as I said the other day there are some smashing pictures to be seen. Each photographer is exhibiting three pictures one of which is of Wanstead, I am delighted to say we have thirteen completely different views of Wanstead. One of the things I love about photography is the way we all see things differently...

Although the exhibition is now open Wednesday to Saturday 10.30 till 5pm and Sunday 10.30 till 4pm the opening night is  next Saturday. 

If you live in Wanstead or just passing through stop for a few minutes and have a look as these lovely pictures...
